How we handle your details

Who we are

Differential is operated by Atticus Intelligence Ltd (“we”, “us”), the data controller for the personal information described in this notice. Our address is 324 Ben Jonson House, Barbican, London EC2Y 8NQ.

What we collect

• Your email address.
• Your first name, if you choose to provide it.
• Your current grade and the types of opportunity you are interested in.
• A record of your consent, including the wording you agreed to and when you gave and confirmed it.
• How you found us, such as the signup form you used or the campaign link you followed (for example, from AutoRota).
• A pseudonymised form of your IP address, used solely to protect the signup form from misuse. We do not store your IP address itself.

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how this site is used. It does not use cookies and does not identify individual visitors. We do not use advertising trackers.

How we use your information

We use your information to send you the career opportunity emails and early-access updates you have requested. We rely on your consent, which you give when you sign up and confirm your email address.

We use your grade and interests to tailor what we send you and to inform how we develop Differential. If you provide your first name, we use it to personalise our emails.

We rely on our legitimate interests to protect the signup form from misuse, to understand in aggregate how this site is used, and, after you unsubscribe, to keep a record that shows you consented and makes sure we do not contact you again.

Who we share it with

We use the following service providers to operate Differential:

• Resend, which manages our mailing list and delivers our emails. Resend stores data in Ireland.
• Vercel, which hosts this website in London.
• Neon, which provides our database, hosted in London.

We do not sell your information or share it with anyone else for marketing purposes.

Ireland is in the European Economic Area, which UK law recognises as providing adequate protection for personal data. Vercel, Neon and Resend are US-based companies and may access data from outside the UK, for example to provide support. Where they do, the transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards in their data processing agreements, such as the UK addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses or the UK extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep it

• If you do not confirm your email address, we delete your details 30 days after your most recent signup request.
• While you are subscribed, we keep your details until you unsubscribe.
• If you unsubscribe, or if our emails to you bounce or are reported as spam, we keep a record for 2 years so that we can demonstrate your consent and ensure we do not contact you again. We then delete it. Our email provider may retain a record of addresses that have bounced or reported spam, to prevent further emails being sent to them.
• Pseudonymised IP address records are deleted within a day.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time by emailing atticus@mydifferential.co.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any of our emails. You also have the right to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, to withdraw your consent at any time, and to object to our use of your information where we rely on our legitimate interests.
